About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our client's dynamic team at Hill Mcglynn Recruitment. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to take on a challenging role and contribute to the success of a leading construction company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Prepare and review tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities, to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform risk, value management, and cost control to minimize project risks and maximize returns.
  • Conduct feasibility studies to estimate materials, time, and labour costs, and provide recommendations for project optimization.
  • Negotiate and procure subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring timely delivery and quality of services.
  • Monitor and control project budgets and costs, identifying areas for improvement and implementing cost-saving measures.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe working environment for all personnel.
  • Provide regular reports on project progress, budgets, and forecasts, enabling informed decision-making.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction sector, with a proven track record of success.
  • Proven experience working with tier one or regional main contractors, with a strong understanding of construction contracts and legislation.
  • Extensive experience working on school projects valued at £10,000,000 and above, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts and legislation, with excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools, such as MS Office and cost management software.
  • Professional membership with RICS or equivalent is preferred, demonstrating a commitment to ongoing professional development.
