E&I Technician - Chemicals

We are seeking a skilled E&I Technician to join our team at SRG, a leading global supplier of specialty chemicals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform planned maintenance on plant machinery and site facilities to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Communicate task progress with relevant stakeholders, including management and colleagues.
  • Respond to reactive repair requests for machinery and equipment.
  • Install new equipment and modify existing equipment as required to meet business needs.
  • Conduct E&I testing, inspection, calibration, and reporting of plant condition to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement a maintenance strategy for machinery, plants, and infrastructure on site to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of E&I systems and processes.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming, including Siemens S7 PLC (step7/TIA portal).
  • Knowledge of motor control and inverter drives, as well as industrial communications protocols (Profinet, Profibus).
  • Experience with instrumentation, including level, flow, pressure, temperature, and pH measurement.
  • Strong fault-finding and planned maintenance skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in CMMS (Avantis/SAP) and other maintenance management software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Sound computer literacy skills, with the ability to learn new software and systems quickly.

Qualifications

  • HNC in a related subject, such as electrical engineering or a related field.
  • NVQ level 3 E&I, or equivalent qualification.
  • 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations, or equivalent qualification.
