Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant

Location: Islington

Job Type: Temporary/Long Term Supply

About the Role:

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team working with SEND schools and ARPs in Islington. As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide essential academic support and personal care to students with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Classroom Support: Assist teachers in the classroom, helping students with complex needs in their learning and development.
  • Personal Care: Provide personal care to students, including toileting, feeding, and hygiene, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
  • Individual Support: Support students individually or in small groups to achieve their specific learning objectives.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • IEPs: Follow Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Progress Monitoring: Monitor and document student progress.
  • Social and Emotional Well-being: Promote the social and emotional well-being of students, assisting them in developing vital life skills.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Previous experience working with children with complex needs is essential.
  • Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in education, healthcare, childcare, or special educational needs are highly desirable.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Personal Care Experience: Experience in providing personal care.
  • Safeguarding: A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
