Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and skilled Machine Operator to join our dynamic production team at Valeo Foods. As a Machine Operator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and smooth operation of our production lines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for delivering high-quality products and meeting production targets.
  • Demonstrate an ability to identify problems, solve, and take action on an hourly basis to minimize downtime and optimize production.
  • Accountable for delivering key performance indicators (KPIs) from the packing line, including Health & Safety, Food Safety, Quality, Cost, and waste on a shift-by-shift basis.
  • Responsible for addressing line/shift-specific consumer complaints and taking corrective action to prevent recurrence.
  • Conduct regular audits to identify areas for improvement and monitor employee performance and area housekeeping.
  • Recognize and address unsafe conditions/behaviors and take corrective action accordingly.
  • Understand process parameters and their impact on KPI performance.
  • Drive and improve housekeeping standards and adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) within the responsible area.
  • Understand and utilize the fault report system effectively.
  • Identify and update tags and tag registers for the responsible area.
  • Provide constructive feedback to staff operating in the processing area.
  • Comply with all company procedures.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the training of other colleagues to ensure a high level of skill and knowledge within the team.

Requirements:

  • Experience within a manufacturing role, preferably in a similar production environment.
  • Strong people and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
  • Working knowledge of root cause analysis and problem-solving techniques.
  • Sound verbal and numerical reasoning skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of Continuous Improvement (CI) tools and systems.
