Job Title: Global Design Engineering Manager

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Global Design Engineering Manager to lead our team of design and drafting engineers in the development of mission-critical equipment components for the oil & gas, power generation, marine, industrial, chemical, and general processing markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a global team of design engineers, designers, and drafters to deliver safe, reliable, and commercially viable designs that meet customer specifications.
  • Develop and implement long-range and short-term strategies to achieve established departmental goals and objectives.
  • Hire new staff, support personal development, and maintain team skill matrices and improvement plans.
  • Prioritize, schedule, and delegate work assignments to engineers, and provide support to the team.
  • Own responsibility for the ACS PLM system, including data management and Trade Compliance management.
  • Develop project schedules, budgets, and timetables for projects as required.
  • Manage communication between manufacturing/engineering/sales and supervise the quality and timeliness of sustaining work and projects.
  • Create engineering standards and perform technical reviews to ensure products are fully and correctly defined.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by engaging the team in CI training and activities.
  • Ensure effective liaison with the Chief Engineer and within the Engineering group to build and maintain high engineering standards.
  • Maintain ISO certifications and put systems in place to assure products meet national and international codes and standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams at other DPC sites to create synergy between aftermarket technology implementation and OEM technology development needs.
  • Participate in customer and supplier meetings to resolve technical and project management issues.
  • Initiate research initiatives with internal and/or external research facilities to further develop technology.
  • Provide training seminars at customer and/or internal sites as needed.
  • Develop close working relationships with technical contacts at strategic customers and suppliers.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or other Engineering with a minimum of 15 years' work experience in an engineered product environment.
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience managing a global team, with over 10 years' experience preferred.
  • Ability to create and execute training plans, including the development of training material.
  • Experience in the design of reciprocating compressor components and failure analysis is preferred.
  • Prior experience using a PLM system is required, with prior experience as an administrator preferred.
  • Demonstrated skill leading continuous improvement projects and events or other problem-solving methodologies.
  • Must be extremely focused and have a strong attention to detail.
  • Must have the ability to multi-task and prioritize project timelines.

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment with occasional travel to customers, end users, conferences, and other DPC sites in the United States, Europe, India, and China.
