About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Risk Underwriter to join our team at The Travelers Companies, Inc. As a Senior Risk Underwriter, you will play a critical role in assessing and managing risk for our clients, ensuring that our policies are accurately priced and that our customers receive the best possible service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and manage risk for clients, including evaluating policy applications and making recommendations for coverage.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, brokers, and other stakeholders to ensure that their needs are met and that they receive the best possible service.
  • Collaborate with underwriting teams to develop and implement underwriting strategies and policies.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, and make recommendations for changes to our underwriting practices and policies.
  • Ensure that all underwriting activities are conducted in accordance with company policies and procedures, and that all regulatory requirements are met.
Requirements
  • University degree and/or Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) Advanced Certification or Diploma preferred.
  • General knowledge of industry business operations and work methods, critical business issues and financial drivers that affect the Line of Business.
  • General knowledge of the local insurance marketplace and effectively uses that knowledge to the Company's advantage; continuously seeks out local market insight.
  • Previous experience of underwriting in management liability/professional indemnity/financial institutions required.
