About the Role
The Unsworth Group Practice is seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients in a safe and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect blood samples from patients in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
- Ensure accurate and legible labeling of all samples to confirm patient identity.
- Verify patient identification against GP/Nurse request and confirm with patient whenever possible.
- Dispatch samples to the appropriate laboratories in a timely fashion.
- Conduct health checks for invited patients, including taking blood pressure readings.
- Visit housebound patients for sample taking, demonstrating flexibility in hours to cover absence of colleagues.

Person Specification
- GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths.
- Qualifications/Certificates in venepuncture are essential.

- Competent in basic duties required for the post.

- Ability to use own judgment, resourcefulness, and common sense.
- Ability to work without direct supervision and determine own workload priorities.
