Pastoral Support Assistant - Wakefield

We are seeking an experienced Pastoral Support Assistant to join our team at Prospero Teaching. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working with children and young people with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide pastoral support to students with complex emotional and behavioural needs, including those with Autistic Spectrum Disorder and Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties.
  2. Work closely with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement strategies to support student inclusion and engagement.
  3. Be the first point of contact for students who are vulnerable and may display challenging behaviours.
  4. Motivate and empower students to reach their potential, promoting a positive and supportive learning environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working with children and young people with special educational needs and/or social, emotional and mental health difficulties. They will also have a strong understanding of the importance of creating a safe and supportive learning environment.

Team Teach training would be beneficial for this role, and the successful candidate will be required to hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service.
