Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Kafka Engineer to enhance our product and platform architecture while adhering to established governance standards. Your role will involve:
- Developing and sustaining cost-effective platform and product architectures.
- Managing and administering On-Premises Kafka clusters.
- Providing in-depth expertise in Kafka components including brokers, zookeepers, Kafka connect, schema registry, KSQL, Rest proxy, and Kafka Control Center.
- Implementing and overseeing Kafka connect operations, particularly with high-volume data streams.
- Administering the Kafka platform, including provisioning, access control, and security configurations such as Kerberos and SSL.
- Working with various Kafka connectors, including MQ, Elastic Search, JDBC, and others, ensuring seamless integration and functionality.
- Designing custom connectors utilizing Kafka core concepts and APIs.
- Participating in design reviews and capacity planning to optimize Kafka usage.
- Engaging in project planning and estimation to guarantee high performance and reliability of solutions.
- Creating topics, establishing redundancy clusters, and deploying monitoring tools while adhering to best practices.
- Utilizing automation tools such as Docker, Jenkins, and GitLab for provisioning.
- Implementing security measures for Kafka, monitoring, and addressing security-related challenges.
- Conducting data benchmarking, performance analysis, and tuning for optimal results.
