Job Overview

As a Quality Control Technician, your primary responsibility will be to uphold exceptional quality standards for our clientele. This includes engaging with and addressing customer feedback to ensure that all actions are centered around customer satisfaction. Quality Control Technicians play a vital role in maintaining the quality of fresh products according to established specifications.

This is a full-time, permanent position with night shifts (40 hours per week) at our facility. The shift schedule is Monday to Friday from 14:30 to 22:30.

Brakes is a leading supplier in the wholesale food industry, providing top-notch products to renowned restaurant brands. We are looking to enhance our workforce in key areas and seek individuals who are dedicated to their roles, committed to fostering strong working relationships across the organization, and motivated by the pursuit of excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and document the quality of incoming products and during storage.
  • Reject any products that do not meet the required specifications and standards.
  • Collaborate with the Quality team to ensure high standards are consistently achieved, focusing on continuous improvement.
  • Ensure that rejected products are properly isolated for return and that control sheets are accurately completed, including necessary information such as temperatures and safety controls.
  • Adhere to established systems and procedures.
  • Address daily delivery issues related to product quality.
  • Provide support in other Quality areas as needed.
  • Respond to customer complaints and monitor suppliers and products associated with these complaints.
  • Work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment where all employees contribute to the overall success of the business.
  • Provide ongoing data and insights that can assist other departments in making informed decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation (Health & Safety, Hygiene, BRC, etc.) applicable to a modern food business and report any violations.
  • Engage in specific projects or tasks as directed by your line manager.

About You:

The ideal candidate will have experience working night shifts in a food manufacturing setting and possess knowledge of warehouse operations, quality assurance/control, and health and safety regulations, or be willing to obtain relevant certifications. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. The successful applicant will be self-motivated and adaptable, with a strong focus on customer service and problem-solving.
