About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Contracts and Procurement Solicitor to provide expert legal advice and support across a range of commercial contracts and procurement matters.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Draft, Review, and Negotiate Commercial Contracts: Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts, including supply agreements, service agreements, and procurement contracts.
  2. Provide Strategic Legal Advice: Provide strategic legal advice on procurement processes, contract law, and compliance with relevant regulations.
  3. Advise on Risk Management: Advise on risk management and mitigation strategies related to commercial contracts.
  4. Liaise with Stakeholders: Liaise with internal stakeholders and external parties to ensure legal compliance and adherence to company policies.
  5. Support Procurement Policies: Support the development and implementation of procurement policies and procedures.
  6. Ensure Contract Compliance: Ensure all contracts are compliant with current legislation and industry standards.
  7. Resolve Contract Disputes: Resolve contract disputes and provide guidance on contract performance issues.
  8. Train and Mentor: Assist in training and mentoring junior legal staff.
Key Requirements:
  1. Qualified Solicitor: Qualified Solicitor in the UK with a minimum of 3 years of PQE (Post-Qualified Experience) in commercial contracts and procurement law.
  2. Contract Negotiation Expertise: Extensive experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
  3. Strong Knowledge: Strong knowledge of UK contract law, procurement regulations, and compliance requirements.
  4. Excellent Communication: Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  5. Task Management: Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  6. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
  7. Local Authority Experience: Local authority experience.
  8. Collaborative Team Player: Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
