Clinical Advisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced healthcare professional to lead our efforts in preventing and controlling the spread of blood-borne viruses in the BSGW region. As the Blood Borne Virus Regional Lead, you will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing strategies to reduce the incidence of HIV, Hepatitis B, and Hepatitis C among individuals in our care.
This is a unique opportunity to take on a leadership role with substantial autonomy and influence. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, public health experts, and other stakeholders to drive innovative programs and interventions. Your leadership will be instrumental in ensuring that our initiatives are evidence-based, impactful, and aligned with national best practices.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement strategies to optimize BBV screening and linkage to care.
- Lead on pathway optimization and ensure alignment with Oxleas prison BBV policy.
- Deliver expert training to multidisciplinary teams on BBV awareness and management.
- Implement strategies to optimize health promotion and disease prevention.
- Ensure patient confidentiality and consent are maintained when working with partner organizations.
- Analyze and present progress data to stakeholders, including Gilead sciences and NHSE.
- Plan and implement targeted testing and public health events.
- Ensure equitable access to treatment for Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, and HIV among individuals in our care.
- Collaborate with the Devon and Dorset BBV lead to address treatment delays and interruptions.

Requirements- Registered Nurse (RMN or RGN) with NMC registration.
- 2 years post-qualification experience, preferably in a prison setting.
- Demonstrated involvement in health promotion activities.
- Working knowledge of treatment pathways and best practice in caring for individuals living with BBVs.
