Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our dynamic Aseptic Pharmacy Services team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. As a Pharmacy Technician, Higher Level, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient provision of chemotherapy services to our patients.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating the activities of the Aseptic Unit, supervising staff, and ensuring safe working practices.
  • Ensuring that aseptic duties are carried out in accordance with national standards.
  • Working towards achieving regional and national accreditations, such as Pre and In Process Checking (PIPC), and maintaining an up-to-date portfolio of evidence to meet Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements.
  • Acting as a role-model and providing a positive mentoring experience for new and junior staff.
Person Specification

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent, BTEC in Pharmaceutical Science or Science Manufacturing Technician Level 3.
  • Significant experience working in a hospital pharmacy, preferably in an Aseptic Unit.
  • Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) or registration as a Science Manufacturing Technician through an appropriate industry body.
