ICICI Bank UK PLC offers a comprehensive range of financial services to individuals, businesses, and corporations in the UK and Europe.

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Real Estate Lending Specialist to join our London, Tower Hill Office on a Fixed Term Contract.

Job Purpose:

As a Commercial Real Estate Lending Specialist, you will be responsible for originating, writing, and managing Loan Against Property / Commercial Real Estate (CRE) lending business for ICICI Bank UK Plc. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Originating transactions through direct, branch referral, business banking referral, private banking referral, website leads, and broker channel.
  • Writing credit applications, coordinating with risk for credit proposals, and presenting to risk and executive committees.
  • Managing post-approval requirements to facilitate the drawdown of facilities.
  • Utilizing effective marketing and sales promotional tools to raise the Bank's profile in the target segment.
  • Participating in events organized by the Bank, broker channel, solicitors, empaneled valuation agencies, and industry forums to focus on customer service and quality maintenance.
  • Regularly monitoring loan accounts, complying with reporting and actionable norms, timely flagging and communicating deviations, collections, recovery, and follow-up with clients for periodical compliance and reporting requirements.
  • Understanding and complying with conduct risk requirements to meet the Group's conduct risk policies and expectations of regulators.
  • Exhibiting high levels of customer service and a sound understanding of retail and business transactions.
  • Reviewing valuation reports and preparing valuation summaries for approval from the Risk Management Group.
  • Liaising with borrowers, solicitors, CMOG, COPS (disbursement) teams to ensure smooth disbursement of loan proposals.
  • Coordinating with borrowers for timely submission of post-disbursement covenant reports.
  • Successfully interacting with internal stakeholders across different departments, brokers, and vendors, and exhibiting exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • New activities identified due to changes in processes and products.
  • Any other activity to facilitate smooth operation of the branch.
  • To undertake projects and assignments from time to time as directed by the Supervisor.

Key Skills and Knowledge Requirements:

  • Ability to network with potential clients for LAP / CRE and build relationships with existing customers of the Bank for LAP / CRE (including direct and internal sourcing).
  • Good network of high-quality CRE brokers.
  • Sound knowledge and competency in Commercial property/asset-backed loans in the UK.
  • Sound knowledge of property valuation, quality, and marketability of properties in the United Kingdom; understanding of legal due diligence & documentation.
  • Working knowledge of the regulations driving the property or asset-backed loans and/or mortgage market in the UK.
  • Credit note writing and credit assessment skills.
  • Banking and lending experience.
  • Ability to contribute towards product development, refining lending policies to suit market requirements.
  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills; ability to communicate with all levels in the organization.
  • Self-motivated and self-driven.

Functional Skills:

  • Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Strong background in commercial real estate or retail asset products.
  • Credit underwriting skills.
  • Broker channel management skills.

Job Requirements/ Specification:

Qualifications: Graduate or Post Graduate.

Work Experience: 5+ years as required for the role.

Industry: Banking or financial services.

Area of work: Commercial Real Estate and lending experience.
