Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and innovative Games Lecturer to join our high-achieving Games, Media and Arts Department. As an Academic Games Developer, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, delivering, assessing, and internal verification of Level 1 to Level 3 Creative Media Production and Games Design courses with a focus on Games Development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver engaging and effective teaching practices that meet the needs of students.
- Contribute to the development of English and Maths in teaching practice and ensure the effective use of innovative resources.
- Embed the development of English and Maths in teaching practice and ensure the effective and efficient use of innovative resources allocated to the programmes.
- Contribute to the future direction and planning of the department, including curriculum design and implementation.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local, national, and regional employers within the Gaming Sector to develop curriculums and ensure they are up-to-date.
- Embed the development of English and Maths in teaching practice and ensure the effective and efficient use of innovative resources allocated to the programmes.
- Contribute to the development of English and Maths in teaching practice and ensure the effective use of innovative resources.
Requirements:
- Education to degree level (or relevant professional qualifications) in an appropriate subject.
- Experience of teaching Level 1 to Level 3/4 Creative Media programmes, including BTEC and UAL syllabus.
- Recognized as a good or better teacher with a proven track record of successful curriculum design, implementation, and development in the curriculum area.
- Thorough understanding of quality assurance and improvement processes and how they can be used to enhance the student experience.
- Industrial experience in Adobe programmes (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects etc) and 3D computer game design and 3D animation production pipeline and relevant software (3D Max, Maya, ZBrush, Mudbox and Adobe Suite).
- Highly proficient in texturing and modelling (high and low-poly).
