About the Role

Eden Scott is seeking a highly skilled Floating Foundations Project Lead to join their team. As a key member of the Offshore Wind Development team, you will play a crucial role in the development of a 1 GW Offshore Wind Project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive the FLU selection process and provide technical input to site selection.
  • Produce project specifications, manage consultants and contractors, and provide information to contract and reporting documents.
  • Lead the design and analysis of floating Substructures, mooring, and anchoring systems for floating wind projects at various stages of the project.
  • Translate engineering issues into CAPEX and OPEX assumptions.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to Designer consultant engineers and team members.
  • Identify and mitigate reasonably foreseeable risks related to substructure mooring and anchors.
  • Ensure that Designers fulfill their duties and collaborate effectively with one another.
  • Conduct regular audits and monitoring Designer compliance with CDM regulations.
  • Engage with external consultants, contractors, independent engineers, lenders engineers, and utility and grid companies as required.
  • Liaise with multi-disciplinary teams working on projects.
  • Input into technical elements of Employer's Requirements for EPC and Consultant contracts.
  • Produce technical reports for senior management.
  • Perform detailed due diligence review of projects.
  • Ensure engineering activities are carried out to the highest quality standards and in accordance with relevant health and safety regulations.
  • Evaluate new products, concepts, and technologies from vendors.
Requirements
  • Demonstrable experience working in offshore wind projects.
  • Primary degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or other relevant discipline for offshore engineering.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience in the design or installation of floating foundations.
  • Experience in offshore wind site selection and offshore installation.
  • Knowledge of offshore wind foundation types, ground conditions interpretation, and foundation, array cable, and turbine installation procedures.
  • Solid working knowledge of foundation design, dynamic analysis (floating systems), hydrodynamics, loading in wind, waves, and currents, structural dynamics, and fatigue, and the design of plated structures, mooring, and anchor systems.
  • Knowledge of international structural and marine design codes and standards in the offshore wind industry.
  • Strong influencing and communication skills, including a record of delivering results through others, and demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to translate engineering issues into CAPEX and OPEX assumptions.
  • Knowledge of the offshore windfarm development and foundation design process.
  • Understanding of wind turbine technology and the issues involved with grid connections.
  • Experience in the preparation of technical specifications and other technical documents.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and, in particular, Health and Safety issues offshore.
Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge of grid connection solutions for offshore wind.
  • Experience in tender/bid evaluation.
Compensation Package

Up to £75,000 (negotiable) + Bonus
