Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver personalized support to a student with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
  • Facilitate the student's learning and growth in alignment with their Individual Education Plan (IEP).
  • Employ techniques to address the student's communication, social, and emotional requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with the SEN Coordinator and classroom educator to foster a nurturing educational atmosphere.
  • Keep precise records of the student's achievements and behavior.
Essential Qualifications:
  • At least a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or its equivalent.
  • Experience working with children or young adults with SEN, especially those with ASD.
Educational Background:

Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification

Professional Experience:

Experience in supporting SEN students, particularly those with ASD.

Skills and Knowledge:
  • Comprehensive understanding of SEN and effective strategies for assisting students with ASD.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capability to function efficiently as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Training in Autism-specific interventions.
  • First Aid certification.
Work Environment:
  • Classroom setting within an educational institution.
  • May involve managing challenging behavior.
  • Full-time hours, temporary role.
