Job Title: Cardiac Care Nurse

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Cardiac Care Nurse to join our team at Kings College Hospital. As a Cardiac Care Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to patients with various cardiac conditions.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Practice:
    • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the needs of patients on the ward on an ongoing basis.
    • Accurately report changes in patients' conditions and instigate remedial action as appropriate.
    • Act as a resource person to others, providing accurate information and support to the multidisciplinary team, patients, and their relatives.
    • Maintain accurate records reflecting changes in the patient's condition and the treatment delivered.
    • Ensure that Clinical Guidelines are implemented and be actively involved in auditing practice.
    • Contribute to the health education of patients and their families.
  • Management:
    • Manage the clinical workload effectively, ensuring care is prioritised appropriately.
    • Assist with the ongoing organisation of the ward, coordinating the activities of the clinical area.
    • Act as a team leader to an identified group of staff, monitoring and documenting their clinical skills development.
    • Actively promote customer care and assist in resolving local complaints.

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse
  • Further Educational Qualification relevant to Clinical Area
  • At least 2 years post-registration experience in a cardiac speciality or other acute speciality
  • Able to manage acutely ill patients
  • Demonstrable clinical expertise relevant to Clinical Area
  • Strong motivation to work within a Cardiology setting
