Senior Analytical Chemist Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Analytical Chemist to join our growing pharmaceutical R&D company in the South Wales region.

As a Senior Analytical Chemist, you will be responsible for leading projects and utilizing your scientific expertise to solve complex analytical problems.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and validating analytical methods for novel compounds using HPLC, UPL, GC, and LC-MS instrumentation.
  • Running and leading a range of analysis in support of R&D projects.
  • Troubleshooting analytical problems and optimizing instrumentation and methods.
  • Leading new initiatives and mentoring junior members of staff.
  • Writing and reviewing project reports.

To be successful in this role, you will have a PhD in chemistry or analytical chemistry and experience working in Analytical Science within a Pharmaceutical development company.

You will also have expertise in HPLC method development for novel compounds and experience with a range of instrumentation including HPLC, GC, NMR, and LC-MS.

Key skills and qualifications include:

  • PhD in chemistry or analytical chemistry.
  • Experience working in Analytical Science within a Pharmaceutical development company.
  • Expertise in HPLC method development for novel compounds.
