Your Role

As a Level 3 Apprentice, your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and implementing both child-led and adult-directed play activities tailored to meet the unique needs and interests of each child.
  • Facilitating play experiences that foster children's numeracy, literacy, and language skills.
  • Assuming the key person role to ensure children feel secure, valued, and safe.
  • Conducting observations to understand the evolving needs of your key children and planning activities that align with the Early Years Foundation Stage.
  • Providing care routines such as nappy changing, toileting, hand washing, and feeding with compassion and respect.
  • Collaborating with parents, colleagues, and other professionals to address the individual needs of each child.
  • Promoting the welfare and safety of children, reporting any safeguarding concerns to the designated person.
  • Actively pursuing continuous professional development opportunities throughout your apprenticeship and beyond.
  • Supporting children during transitions, such as moving to school or welcoming a new sibling, utilizing your understanding of their needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum grade 4 in Math, English, and ICT or equivalent.
  • Opportunity for a skills bootcamp course to accelerate apprenticeship at Level 3 for suitable candidates.
Training and Development

Your role and responsibilities will be clearly defined by your employer. Bumbles Nursery will provide comprehensive on-the-job training, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be integrated into your working hours. You will work towards the Level 3 Early Years Educator apprenticeship standard, which encompasses:

  • Knowledge, Skills, and Behaviours.
  • Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Educator.
  • Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid or Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid.
  • Level 2 Functional Skills in Maths and English (if necessary).

This training will be facilitated by Realise, a reputable training provider committed to fostering a positive culture and supporting your growth.
