About the Role

Sportable is a leading sports technology company on a mission to solve the hardest problems in elite sports using cutting-edge technology. As a multidisciplinary company, we are looking for a dedicated engineer to take a lead role in the electronic design, validation, and certification of our products, new and existing.

This is a unique opportunity to join the core of a highly talented, multi-disciplinary R&D engineering team, encompassing digital and RF electronics, mechanical engineering, data science, and software development. You will be responsible for leading the electronics design and validation of a range of wearable wireless embedded products, from concept to compliance and commercial launch.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the electronics design and validation process, ensuring quality, cost, and timeline are met.
  • Tackle complex technical problems with a balanced mix of analytical and hands-on approach.
  • Communicate clearly with and support the rest of the engineering team.
  • Be the main technical point of contact with external suppliers, ensuring the quality of their deliveries.
Requirements
  • Proven record of delivering digital and analog electronics designs from architecture to production, preferably with a focus on battery-powered, MCU-based applications.
  • Experience working with products including RF (GPS, BT, etc.) is a must.
  • Technical fluency in firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing engineering.
  • Experience with the complete certification process (CE and FCC) is required, with a focus on EMC troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency with eCAD tools for schematics and layout using Altium is a plus.
  • Proficient with test equipment (oscilloscope, DMM, RF spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and RF signal generators) and good soldering skills for debug purposes.
  • Understanding of embedded C/C++ for microcontrollers and familiarity with standard interface buses (SPI, I2C, UART, USB).
  • Ability to consider the product's full life cycle while designing and validating (DfM, DfT, DtC, and EMI).
