About the Role

As a Buyer, you will report directly to the Procurement Manager overseeing Bids, Mobilisations, and Acquisitions. Your primary responsibilities will include supporting essential procurement functions, particularly concerning bids and mobilisations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sourcing, Negotiation & Contracting:
    • Gathering data on expenditures, volumes, and service requirements to prepare for sourcing initiatives.
    • Negotiating with suppliers to secure optimal market pricing.
    • Assisting in the formulation and implementation of sourcing strategies that align with corporate objectives.
  • Bid Support:
    • Collaborating with Procurement Category & Sourcing Teams and Bid Pricing Teams to secure competitive supplier pricing.
    • Leading supplier engagement during bidding processes to ensure precise and competitive proposals.
  • Mobilisation Support:
    • Assisting in validating pricing for new contracts to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.
    • Managing supplier onboarding processes, ensuring all suppliers are adequately vetted and integrated into the organization’s systems prior to contract commencement.
  • Stakeholder Management:

    Managing and supporting a diverse range of internal stakeholders within the bids and mergers team, ensuring alignment and successful execution of procurement strategies.

    Working collaboratively with Sales, Operations, Finance, and Shared Services teams to gather, evaluate, and challenge business requirements.

    Building and maintaining robust relationships with external suppliers, balancing the need for challenge with positive, collaborative interactions.

  • Supplier Management:
    • Ensuring suppliers meet the organization’s standards for quality, reliability, and delivery.
    • Monitoring supplier performance and collaborating with them to resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Proactively identifying opportunities to enhance sourcing processes and supplier engagement strategies.
    • Contributing to the establishment of annual procurement targets and goals, focusing on cost reduction, quality enhancement, and risk mitigation.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience & Expertise:

    2 to 3 years of procurement experience with a solid background in sourcing, negotiation, and stakeholder management is essential. Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment is crucial.

  • Skills:

    Exceptional communication, negotiation, and organizational skills are required. You should be adept at managing multiple priorities effectively and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.

  • Qualifications:

    A CIPS qualification is preferred but not mandatory. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience is required.
