We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Northamptonshire Healthcare Foundation Trust. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in providing a daily medicines management service, ensuring the safe and effective administration of medications to our residents.
Main Responsibilities- Administer medications, ensuring accurate delivery to residents and providing guidance on medication-related queries.
- Assist nursing staff with medication queries and provide problem-solving advice on service provision and medication management issues.
- Check all prescriptions and perform medication reconciliation for new residents.
- Conduct daily medicines management checks, including stock removal and disposal in line with department policies and procedures.
- Enter resident details into computerized record systems, ensuring up-to-date and complete drug histories.
- Provide advice on medication compliance and concordance, as well as medication-related minor ailments.
- Assist in the purchase of medicines, equipment, and resources, including preparing daily orders and suggesting suitable alternatives.
- Active membership of a professional organization.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD).
- Knowledge of IT systems and ability to maintain accurate records.
