Delivering Essential Services to Communities

As a Support Driver, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of Thames Water's water network. You'll be responsible for transporting essential materials and equipment to our field teams working on site, keeping our infrastructure running efficiently.

Your Responsibilities
  • Deliver plant, signing & guarding (S&G) and materials from distribution depots to support field teams working on water network repairs and maintenance.
  • Communicate with customers about planned and imminent repair works in their vicinity, ensuring transparency and minimizing disruption.
  • Monitor field work progress during the transition between water network fix and reinstatement back-fill completion, ensuring compliance with safety standards for guarding our water infrastructure.
  • Maintain delivery schedules and keep the Logistics Co-ordinator informed of any potential delays that could impact service on outbound or site collection/clearance tasks.
  • Conduct preloading assessments prior to dispatch, ensuring proper loading techniques and secure tie-down methods for all transported materials.
Your Skills and Experience

We're looking for a reliable and dedicated individual with a strong work ethic. You should possess:

  • A valid UK driving license and the ability to drive a commercial van.
  • Previous experience driving a commercial van in a professional setting.
  • No more than 6 points on your driving license.
  • A reliable, punctual, and flexible attitude with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • The ability to perform manual handling tasks up to 25kg.
