COSHH Assessor Job Description

We are seeking a skilled COSHH Assessor to join our team at Shorterm Group. As a COSHH Assessor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe handling and use of chemicals in our manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create COSHH assessments from SDS data and proposed operational usage, including the specification of engineering controls and PPE.
  • Work with HS&E Advisors to approve new materials and chemicals, ensuring suitable and sufficient assessments are created or reviewed.
  • Record COSHH risk assessments in our software system, noting operational controls and actions for tracking to closure.
  • Collaborate with HS&E Advisors to identify suitable PPE for employee use when working with chemicals.
Requirements:
  • 2 years' experience in undertaking COSHH assessments in a high-hazard environment.
  • Knowledge of industrial chemistry, ideally including electroplating.
  • Able to pick up and use our bespoke IT system for chemical procedure assessment.
  • CRB authorisation.
