Job Title: Female Personal Assistant - Support Role

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Female Personal Assistant to support our daughter Erin, who has Phelan-McDermid syndrome, a rare genetic disorder. The successful candidate will provide daily support and care for Erin, enabling her to participate in various activities and reach her full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal care and support to Erin, including assistance with daily living tasks and mobility
  • Accompany Erin to various activities, such as horse riding and visits to the Tim Lamb and Alan Shearer centre
  • Develop and maintain a strong relationship with Erin, using communication strategies to support her non-verbal needs
  • Work closely with our family to ensure Erin's needs are met and her goals are achieved
  • Drive Erin to appointments and activities, using a wheelchair when necessary

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with special needs
  • Ability to provide physical support and assistance with mobility
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
