Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Head of Finance to join our client's senior management team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of financial reporting and compliance, including the management of a small finance team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting
    • Prepare monthly financial reporting packs, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
    • Analyze financial data and provide insights to the board on major variances.
  • Cash Flow Management
    • Monitor cash flow and forecast future trends.
    • Manage daily cash flow and ensure timely payments.
  • Financial Accounting
    • Manage financial accounting, including prepayments, accruals, journals, and stock movements.
    • Maintain fixed asset registers and calculate depreciation.
  • Payroll and Compliance
    • Manage monthly payroll processes, including PAYE returns and HMRC submissions.
    • Ensure compliance with statutory accounting and tax regulations.
  • Leadership and Management
    • Lead and manage a small finance team.
    • Develop relationships with external contacts, including auditors and solicitors.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in an accounting or financial management role.
  • Ability to manage deadlines, multitask, and prioritize effectively.
  • Discretion and comfort in dealing with confidential information.
  • Experience with data entry, creating and analyzing reports, and presenting findings at board level.
  • Strong leadership qualities and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to challenge in a professional and constructive manner.
  • Proven experience in managing audit processes and proficient in Microsoft Office and accounting software.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Priority ERP system.
