Engineering Storesperson

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Storesperson / Purchaser to join our client's team in Buckinghamshire. As a key member of the engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the stores and procurement functions.
Key Responsibilities- Inventory Management: Ensure that spare parts for maintenance and servicing are in stock and payments are made in a timely manner.
- Purchasing: Purchase engineering equipment and parts to agreed specifications, on time, in full, and at the best cost.
- Cost Reduction: Identify areas where cost and waste can be reduced.
- Stores Administration: Responsible for stores administration, financial reporting, and administration.
- Procurement: Process POs in an accurate and timely manner to the finance team.
- Supplier Relationships: Develop strong working relationships with suppliers.
- Stock Takes: Carry out stock takes of the engineering stores.
- Stock Flow and Control: Work closely with the engineering stores manager to create better stock flow and control.
- Spare Parts Management: Control spares costs and report on any higher costings or discontinued items.
- Experience: Must have previous working experience as an engineering storesperson.
- Industry Knowledge: Ideally have food manufacturing experience or worked in some form of engineering environment.
- Financial Skills: Strong financial and purchasing skills.
- IT Skills: Good IT skills, with strong Microsoft Excel experience.
- Problem-Solving: Approaches tasks with a can-do attitude and the ability to create solutions to problems.
- Attention to Detail: Good attention to detail.
- Learning Ability: Able to learn new IT systems quickly.
- Inventory Management: Ideally have experience of conducting engineering parts stock takes.
