Chauffeur for the Bishop of Lincoln

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To provide transportation for the Bishop to various services, meetings, events, and train stations within the Diocese, and occasionally outside of it.
- To coordinate with personnel in The Bishops' Office to facilitate all driving arrangements.
Driving Responsibilities
- To be available for driving duties during weekdays, evenings, and weekends as needed.
- To effectively plan routes and timings as necessary.
- To assist in the servicing, repair, and routine maintenance of the Bishop's official vehicle.
- To ensure the vehicle is consistently supplied with fuel, oil, water, and other essentials.
Required Qualifications
Certifications:
- A valid driving license along with proof of business use insurance.
Skills and Abilities:
- A practical and proactive approach to tasks.
- Capability to use initiative, plan effectively, and execute tasks.
- Ability to collaborate well within a small team environment.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and exhibiting courtesy, friendliness, and discretion at all times.
- A flexible attitude towards working hours.
- Professional appearance, mindful of representing the Bishop and his staff.
Experience and Knowledge:
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in basic vehicle servicing and maintenance.
- Proficient in handling and maintaining tools and equipment related to vehicle and property upkeep.
- Ability to operate various car models, both automatic and manual.
- Familiarity with the geographical area encompassed by the diocese.
- Competence in reading and interpreting road maps.
- Effective manual handling skills pertaining to lifting tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
Certifications:
- Advanced driving certification.
Skills and Abilities:
- Understanding of the Christian faith and an interest in the Church of England.
- Experience in engaging with the public and providing support to individuals in senior management or leadership roles.
Experience and Knowledge:
- Background in general maintenance work.
