Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage costs of groundworks projects to ensure efficiency, profitability, and safety.
  • Accurately measure all site works to ensure accuracy and precision.
  • Provide early cost advice to clients regarding variations and changes.
  • Identify commercial risks and offer suitable solutions to mitigate them.
  • Conduct cost analysis and procurement-related tasks to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Generate various cost value reports to inform business decisions.
  • Assess completed work for timely payments and ensure cash flow is maintained.
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with clients and production staff.
  • Allocate tasks to sub-contractors and assist with their procurement to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Aid in the development of assistants and trainees to ensure knowledge transfer and succession planning.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor in a similar industry.
  • Previous experience in Residential Groundworks contracting is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with contractual terms in groundworks and civil engineering is essential.
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Efficient problem-solving abilities to resolve complex issues.
  • High precision and attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Strong team player with relationship-building capabilities to contribute to a positive and productive work environment.
