Pareto FM is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team on a permanent basis. In this role, you will be responsible for completing Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) tasks, ensuring that all building systems operate efficiently.
Key Responsibilities- Customer Service and Relationship Building: Build and maintain effective relationships with customers and internal/external suppliers by resolving service issues.
- Maintenance Service Delivery: Own maintenance service requests from submission to completion and feed back to the client and Facilities Management team. Be the first line of response for all associated M&E and Fabric issues.
- Statutory Compliance: Carry out statutory compliance tasks to all facility-related services.
- Record Keeping and Management: Maintain records and update computer-based management systems.
- Quality and Budget Management: Ensure works are completed to a high standard, within budget, and that key client requirements are met.
- Reporting and Communication: Provide regular reports and updates to the Pareto FM Account Manager and the client.
- Subcontractor Management: Support and manage subcontractors carrying out routine and emergency breakdown maintenance both in and out of hours. Ensure that RAMS are appropriate, and contractors are complying with them at all times. Check and verify all work has been completed.
- Technical Advice and Support: Provide technical M&E advice and support to the client where requested.
- Interdepartmental Collaboration: Liaise with other professionals undertaking project work and contribute site and maintenance information where required.
- Best Practices and Procedures: Liaise with the client and other Pareto FM staff to develop and disseminate national best practices in M&E maintenance and procedures.
- Site and Property Management: Participate in site and property teams and provide technical input in other areas e.g., security, health and safety, risk assessments, utility infrastructures, counter disaster planning, and other appropriate initiatives.
- Client Communication: Consult and inform the client of work that is taking place across the site. Always try to work around lab testing if possible and ensure there is minimal downtime of lab operations.
- Adaptability and Flexibility: Undertake other works of a similar nature as required and directed by the client and Pareto FM Account Manager.
- Innovation and Improvement: Have a good eye for innovation and improvement of existing systems and processes.
- Client Support and Problem-Solving: Be the go-to person for the client when an issue arises.
- Resource Allocation and Flexibility: Be prepared to 'fill the gaps' and step into other Facilities Management roles in times of constrained resources.
- On-Call Rota: Be part of the on-call rota – Approx 1 week a month.
- Qualifications and Certifications: AM2 & NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation/Maintenance.
- Industry Standards and Regulations: BS7671 18th edition.
- Design and Installation: Able to design new systems and additions to existing installations.
- Risk Management and Compliance: Familiar with the general risks and hazards associated with building work including asbestos.
- Legal Compliance and Governance: Great understanding of legal compliance within maintenance and Facilities management; as well as how to achieve and maintain it to a high standard.
- Technical Skills and Software: PC literate and competent in the use of MS Office Package including MS Excel and MS Word. Experience with security system programs such as CCTV and access control and CAFM systems is ideal.
- Problem-Solving and Maintenance: Able to independently problem solve and undertake general maintenance tasks to a high quality.
- Leadership and Supervision: Must be happy to supervise and manage contractors.
- System Knowledge and Understanding: Willing to learn and understand our systems on site: fire alarm, heating system, AC, compressed air, etc.
- Mechanical and Building Knowledge: Some knowledge of mechanical engineering/plumbing and building construction.
- Communication and Feedback: Excellent communication and feedback skills.
- IOSH Managing Safely.
- Inspection and Testing Qualification (2391/2394/2395).
- Personality and Attitude: Personable and enthusiastic with excellent customer service skills.
