Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the role of Children's Home Registered Manager at Assemble Personnel Limited. As the Registered Manager, you will be responsible for providing quality care for a group of vulnerable young people with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Provide Quality Care: Actively contribute to the provision of quality care, promoting the health, welfare, education, and development of young people.
  2. Develop and Maintain Policies: Ensure that there is an appropriate Statement of Purpose for the home, updated regularly, and maintain a positive, safe, and homely environment, focusing on the safety and care of young people.
  3. Ensure Compliance: Ensure that the standards within the home are maintained and developed in line with the Care Standards Act 2000 and the Children's Homes Regulations 2015.
  4. Lead the Team: Attend and chair young people's and staff meetings, liaising with other professional agencies, and work proactively with the team to include daily parenting responsibilities and household duties.
  5. Build Relationships: Build positive relationships with young people, ensuring adherence to boundaries and consistency of care practice.
  6. Manage Staff: Undertake appropriate training and manage the staff team, including appraisals and personal development plans.
  7. Lead on Complex Cases: Lead on complex cases, ensuring staff understand and implement relevant safeguarding procedures.
  8. Operate the Home: Assume responsibility for the operation of the home and ensure effective handovers between shifts.
  9. Participate in Recruitment: Participate in the company's selection and recruitment process.
  10. Manage Resources: Manage identified budgets and ensure the maximum care of company property and equipment.
  11. Work with Monitoring Bodies: Work proactively with monitoring bodies to ensure services develop beyond set standards.
Requirements
  1. Working Knowledge: Working knowledge of young people and child development through direct experience.
  2. Legislative Knowledge: Understanding of current legislation and OFSTED requirements.
  3. Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge of the Children's Homes Regulations (2015) and Quality Care Standards.
  4. Awareness: Awareness of the social, emotional, educational, cultural, and recreational needs of young people.
  5. Leadership Experience: Experience in leading a committed team to deliver excellent care.
Skills and Abilities
  1. Qualifications: Hold the QCF/NVQ 5 in Leadership and Management or equivalent.
  2. Conflict Resolution: Able to effectively use strategies for dealing with confrontational behavior.
  3. Communication: Ability to engage appropriately with young people and develop rapport.
  4. Boundary Management: Ability to manage personal and professional boundaries.
  5. Pressure Management: Ability to cope with the pressure of a residential care setting.
  6. Driving License: Hold a current full driving license and be prepared to drive as part of the work.
