Job Title: Domestic Assistant BCH

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Domestic Assistant BCH. As a key member of our Estates and Facilities Management team, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy environment for our patients and staff.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing timely bed turnarounds, cleaning and preparing patient bed space areas, and working closely with multi-professional teams to ensure a smooth patient flow. You will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and hygienic environment, adhering to national standards of cleanliness, and working independently and as part of a team.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Daily cleaning of wards and departments
  • General cleaning duties within designated areas, including cleaning of toilets and bathrooms
  • Damp dusting, cleaning of surfaces, and mopping of floors to the standard stated in the cleaning specification for the area
  • Food and beverage service of inpatients
Requirements:
  • Basic numeracy and ability to read English
  • Good interpersonal skills, customer relations, and neat presentation
  • Awareness of the importance of Health & Safety in the workplace
  • Awareness of the importance of COSHH in the workplace
  • Good teamwork skills, acceptance of role and responsibilities, flexibility to meet the needs of the service, and ability to work in a quick-changing environment under pressure
