About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Area Engineering Manager to join our team at our flagship site in Corby. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for leading a team of shift engineers and overseeing the maintenance and engineering activities within the business unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership and Team Management
- Provide strong leadership to the business unit engineering team, fostering a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Effectively develop the skills, knowledge, and attitudes of the engineering team within the business unit, enabling them to provide an effective breakdown service as members of an integrated manufacturing team.
- Maintenance and Engineering
- Ensure that all operational maintenance, engineering, and project-related health and safety requirements are clearly communicated and diligently applied for your business unit.
- Take responsibility of the business unit maintenance budget to ensure the control of expenditure within agreed limits.
- Continuously ensure the business unit adheres to the current Engineering Standards (PUWER, LOLA, IEE Standards).
- Project Management
- Develop and implement capital investment projects within the business unit, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic objectives.
Requirements
- Experience managing an engineering team within a manufacturing environment (preferably food or FMCG).
- Demonstrable experience in leading and developing a team.
- Apprentice-trained or recognized engineering qualification.
- Experience of managing maintenance budgets and working within a management role previously.
