About the Role

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for the management of subcontract packages on airfield projects, ensuring timely delivery, quality, and cost control. This role requires a strong understanding of NEC forms of contract and experience in managing both subcontracted and self-delivery packages.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise managers on procurement options and cost control procedures
  • Manage subcontracted and self-delivery packages, including forecasting and budgeting
  • Develop and maintain commercial relationships with subcontractors
  • Monitor and control costs, ensuring compliance with financial parameters
  • Collaborate with project management teams to ensure effective project delivery
  • Produce and monitor Applications/Final Accounts
  • Check and agree subcontract Applications/Accounts
  • Manage change and contract procedures with subcontractors and clients
  • Coach and advise Assistant Quantity Surveyors
  • Monitor and assess staff capability and performance

Requirements

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or related qualification
  • Quantity Surveying experience in managing subcontracted and self-delivery packages
  • Working knowledge of NEC forms of contract and amendments
  • Knowledge of contract structure and law
  • Experience of contract management and procurement
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation
