Job Summary

The Senior Technical Support Engineer provides technical direction and leadership in the support, development, and enhancement of Rocket products, specifically within the Enterprise product suite. This role involves troubleshooting reported symptoms to aid in the resolution process, either directly for the customer or to help guide the development team in providing permanent solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Successfully resolve technical issues from internal or external users using appropriate diagnostic techniques, including trace analysis or debugging through the system source code.
  • Reproduce complex incidents affecting business-critical accounts.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and support to Customer Support colleagues and field teams.
  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of Rocket products, including Micro Focus COBOL-based products and system-level IBM mainframe experience.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements.

Requirements

  • Advanced troubleshooting skills based on application of experience, diagnostic analysis using traces, dumps, and other tools, and hypothesis formulation and testing.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and agile methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
