Position Overview

We are excited to announce an opportunity for an Electrical Technician to join our Facilities Management team.

The ideal candidate will be capable of working independently across various locations or collaboratively within a team, depending on the tasks at hand. This role involves close collaboration with other tradespeople and occasional support for external contractors.

Key Duties

The Electrical Technician will be tasked with performing minor installations, maintenance, and urgent repairs on the electrical systems and services throughout the campus.

Flexibility in working hours may be required, including early starts, late finishes, and potential weekend shifts, based on operational needs. Participation in the out-of-hours on-call rota is also expected.

While you will primarily work independently, you will also be part of a larger Estates team. Strong communication and customer service skills are essential as you address daily tasks and respond to various inquiries and situations. As a support service, professionalism, friendliness, discretion, and attention to detail are paramount.

About Estates and Facilities Management

The Estates & Facilities Services Directorate is dedicated to providing comprehensive management services to the University, including property upkeep, planned maintenance, cleaning, security, and space facilitation for staff and students.

The Facilities Management team operates within the Estates and Property Service Division, focusing on delivering critical services across all campuses to ensure that facilities are welcoming, functional, and suitable for all users.
