About the Role
The Royal Marsden is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Research Team Administrative Officer to join our team as a Section Leader. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a world-leading cancer research and treatment centre, supporting the Director of the International Centre for Recurrent Head and Neck Cancer.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide high-level administrative support to the Director and the research team, including developing and implementing administrative systems and processes.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including researchers, clinicians, and patients.
- Ensure effective communication and coordination across the team, including updating stakeholders on project progress and deadlines.
- Manage incoming messages and redirect or forward items as necessary, clearly indicating deadlines and instructions.
Person Specification
- Education to degree level or equivalent qualification and/or experience.
- Demonstrable previous experience as a PA at Senior Management level.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent administrative and organisational skills.
- High level of competency with Microsoft packages, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience of complex diary management and minute taking.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience of working within the healthcare sector.
- Experience of managing invoices and orders.
- Understanding of medical terminology, particularly in oncology.
