About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Residential Property Solicitor to join our team at Douglas Scott Legal Recruitment. As a key member of our conveyancing team, you will be responsible for managing a varied caseload of residential property transactions, including sales, purchases, re-mortgages, and lease extensions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transaction Management: Oversee the entire conveyancing process, ensuring all transactions are completed efficiently and accurately.
  • Title Checking: Review property titles and highlight any potential issues or restrictions to clients, ensuring full legal compliance and advising on solutions where necessary.
  • Client Liaison: Act as the main point of contact for clients, providing regular updates, addressing queries, and offering expert legal advice throughout the transaction.
  • Contract Drafting and Reviewing: Prepare, review, and amend contracts for residential property transactions, ensuring that all legal requirements are met, and the client's interests are protected.
  • Document Preparation: Prepare key legal documents such as transfer deeds, lease extensions, and other property-related agreements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Due Diligence: Carry out property searches, liaise with local authorities, mortgage lenders, and other relevant parties to gather necessary information and resolve any issues that arise.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other members of the conveyancing team, as well as other departments, to ensure seamless service delivery and support where needed.
  • Client Care and Relationship Management: Maintain a high standard of client care, building and nurturing strong relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years' post-qualification experience in residential property law.
  • The ability to independently manage their caseload while also collaborating effectively within a team.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and IT skills.
