Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Hydrogen Technologies. As a key member of our engineering support team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and continuous operation of our manufacturing equipment and site utilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure Compliance: Ensure all engineering and maintenance activities meet current EHS legislation and apply Group EHS policies.
- Support Contractors: Support contractors and visitors by ensuring effective RAMS, permits, and supervision of all maintenance activities.
- Equipment Maintenance: Support the procurement, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of key automated manufacturing and site plant equipment to meet agreed specifications in line with business requirements.
- Preventative Maintenance: Implement, document, and report routine preventative maintenance schedules for both plant and machinery.
- Breakdown Situations: Support reactive breakdown situations, liaising with manufacturers to ensure adequate service and plant maintenance provisions are in place.
- Process Improvement: Continually seek to improve existing processes in support of improving safety, increasing material utilization, improving production outputs, and minimizing waste.
- Representation: Represent Operations and EHS activities where required to deputize for the Site Operations Manager.
- Additional Duties: Carry out or take on any other duties that are within the employee's skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed.

- Our Clients: Hydrogen Technologies is a customer-focused, global business dedicated to the supply of high-performance fuel cell catalysts and components.
- Business Overview: The business, headquartered in Swindon, is a leader in its chosen markets with rapidly growing sales supported by its extensive R&D and manufacturing capabilities.
- Team Overview: This role is within the engineering support team for a manufacturing site producing and developing new-to-world technology, supporting a complex, fast-changing research, development, and rapidly growing manufacturing environment as the Hydrogen Technologies business continues to evolve towards high-volume manufacture and commercial success.
Special Factors:
- Working Hours: The Maintenance Engineering team works 5 days a week, with occasional weekend support required.
- Uniform and PPE: Uniform and appropriate PPE will be provided and must be worn.
- Training: Training on specialist equipment or process will be provided.
Person Specification:

Qualifications/Knowledge/Experience:
- Ideal Candidate: Ideally apprentice-trained with 4 years of experience in an automated, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Essential Skills: Experience of high-temperature ovens, roll handling, and hydraulic presses is an advantage.
- Desirable Skills: Multi-skilled engineer with a solid understanding of Mechanical and Electrical engineering.
- Technical Skills: Experience of motors, servo drives, variable frequency drives, and AC/DC motors is essential.
- Automation Experience: Proven knowledge of process automation equipment, including PLC systems: Allen Bradley, Siemens, and Mitsubishi, plus Robot controls is essential.
- Qualifications: Qualified to C&G or HNC (Level 4) in electrical/mechanical engineering discipline is desirable.
- Electrical Installations: Experience of using Microsoft Office and SAP ERP is desirable.
