Job Title: Account Engineer I

Claxton, a part of the Acteon Group, is seeking a skilled Account Engineer I to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for developing tooling and technology solutions to support a wide range of energy industry projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess design briefs to produce innovative design solutions that meet project requirements, considering factors such as timescale, cost, safety, and current client and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to integrate products from within the group and offer external product solutions to achieve project objectives.
  • Perform design work to produce required project documentation, drawings, calculations, procedures, and reports.
  • Generate functional design specifications and technical specifications for products and projects.
  • Manage the design elements of projects, including design output, manufacture, QA, and 3rd party verification/validation, with respect to technical, timeframe, and commercial considerations.
  • Create designs and perform design verification using FEA and hand calculations in support of key projects and products.
  • Provide design-related input into kick-off, design review, project planning, and other meetings.
  • Support validation testing and commissioning activities as required, and provide support to field operations and site integration tests for the project/product as needed.
Requirements:
  • MEng or equivalent in Mechanical, Mechanical and Electrical, or Mechatronics engineering (a combination of BEng/BSc and practical experience will be considered).
  • 1-2 years of experience working in a mechanical tooling design environment, with ROV/subsea tooling experience being advantageous.
  • Ability to use Solidworks (or other 3D CAD package) and 2D CAD to create detailed models and drawings in support of projects and products.
  • Strong knowledge of machine design elements, strength of materials, and use of Mathcad and FEA principles to perform design verification using first principles.
  • Practical mechanical experience through previous work roles or hobbies will be advantageous.
