Lead VFX Artist Opportunity at Studio Gobo

Studio Gobo, a renowned AAA games studio, is seeking an exceptional Lead VFX Artist to drive the creation of high-quality visual effects for a AAA console game. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining or establishing the artistic vision and style guide for VFX work, managing and mentoring a small team of VFX Artists, and championing VFX opportunities to enhance the game.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the art director, studio leads, and client to ensure the artistic vision and style guide for VFX work are maintained or established.
  • Manage and mentor a small team of VFX Artists, developing their skills and providing inspiring direction and constructive critique.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to enhance the game with VFX.
  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of VFX principles, timing, and attention to detail.
  • Partner with technical teams to deliver efficient, stable, and state-of-the-art VFX pipelines and tools.
Requirements:
  • Prior experience as a Lead VFX Artist with at least one shipped AAA title to your credit.
  • A world-class portfolio showcasing your ability and talent.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Experience working with recruitment and studio leadership teams to identify talent and assist in the hiring process.
  • Understanding of VFX tools such as Houdini, Substance Designer, and Unreal Engine or proprietary game engines.
