This role qualifies for a Golden Hello incentive of £2,750 for new hires who are not currently employed by the Trust. This amount will be distributed in three payments over a two-year timeframe. We are seeking dedicated Speech and Language Therapists eager to join a nurturing team and enhance their expertise in addressing a diverse array of speech, language, and communication challenges (SLCN) across various environments, including clinics, educational institutions, and home settings.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate as part of a local team to assist children, families, and educational settings within a specified geographical region.
Conduct assessments, diagnoses, and create tailored care plans for children facing a variety of SLCN issues, such as speech and language impairments, developmental language disorder, stuttering, and Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Job Duties
We are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist who is enthusiastic about developing their skills in addressing a broad spectrum of speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN) in various settings.
The Speech and Language Therapy Service provides support for children with diverse SLCN and associated eating and drinking challenges throughout Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire County. Our service offers a comprehensive range of care packages for children experiencing speech and language difficulties, developmental language disorder, Autism, learning disabilities, physical challenges, eating and drinking issues, voice disorders, hearing impairments, and fluency disorders. Our goal is to deliver support in the most suitable environments, whether health, education, or home.
We are a large department compared to others nationally, which creates frequent opportunities for professional development. Our therapists can specialize in various clinical areas and share their expertise with less experienced colleagues.
We operate in teams with a shared caseload, actively supporting new staff in building their confidence in managing cases, allowing for a gradual accumulation of skills and experience. This includes shadowing opportunities, continuing professional development (CPD), and dedicated time for case discussions as you enhance your abilities.

- Assess, diagnose, design, and implement suitable care packages for children with SLCN.
- Collaborate with and provide training for parents, educational staff, and other professionals to ensure a well-coordinated support plan for eligible children.
- Assist in identifying and managing children with SLCN as part of an integrated team and offer guidance to Speech and Language Therapy Assistants (SLTAs).
Essential Qualifications
- Recognized Speech and Language Therapy Degree or equivalent, or currently pursuing.
- A genuine interest in and experience (including undergraduate experience) working with children and young people facing a variety of SLCN and eating and drinking challenges.
- Experience (including undergraduate experience) working in educational or pre-school settings with children exhibiting diverse communication difficulties.
- Understanding of the Speech and Language Therapist's role in addressing the needs of children utilizing community clinic services and/or educational settings.
- Interest or experience in multidisciplinary teamwork.
- A valid UK driving license and access to a vehicle for business purposes are required for this position; however, reasonable adjustments will be made for individuals with disabilities in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.
