Company Overview:
Verto People is a leading engineering firm renowned for its innovative contributions to the maritime sector. We are currently seeking a Senior Structural Analysis Engineer to enhance our capabilities in Portsmouth.


Position Summary:
In this pivotal role, you will spearhead structural analysis initiatives for various projects, collaborating with industry specialists to create advanced methodologies and tools.


Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop load cases and targets by applying fundamental principles, leveraging past experiences, and adhering to customer and legislative requirements.
2. Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to ensure design solutions satisfy specified static and dynamic load criteria.
3. Support feasibility studies and requirements generation during the pre-contract and conceptual phases.
4. Conduct and document analyses in line with established protocols, ensuring clarity and compliance with internal standards and legal requirements.
5. Mentor junior engineers, sharing your expertise in system behavior, load paths, structural responses, and potential failure modes.
6. Create and execute stress analysis simulations using tools such as NX SimCentre, selecting appropriate techniques and boundary conditions to optimize speed, accuracy, and relevance.
7. Analyze simulation results, prepare comprehensive reports, and contribute to physical testing, calibration, and validation processes.
8. Serve as a technical liaison for discussions with customers, suppliers, manufacturing teams, and internal stakeholders.


Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Marine, or Aerospace Engineering.
- Experience in stress simulation, including implicit and fatigue analysis, with a solid grasp of linear and non-linear methods.
- Proven expertise with both metallic and composite structures, along with proficiency in FEM analysis for shell and solid structures.
- Skilled in performing classical hand calculations and developing custom calculation sheets.
- Practical experience with physical testing and correlation is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Siemens SimCenter is preferred, along with knowledge of other analysis software (Hyperworks, nCode, FEMFAT, LS-Dyna, NASTRAN, FEMAP).
- Working knowledge of TeamCenter and Siemens NX.
