Mechanical Assembly Technician

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join our team at Omega Resource Group. As a Mechanical Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes and the delivery of high-quality products to our customers.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and coordinate workflow with the Operations Manager to ensure timely delivery of products and services to customer requirements.
- Identify and resolve parts shortages and manage component delivery dates to ensure efficient production.
- Support design and program reviews, and collaborate with the engineering team to design special tools and equipment for assembly and test purposes.
- Work with multi-disciplined teams to introduce new products and production processes into full manufacture.
- Provide technical support throughout the product lifecycle, including low-rate and ad-hoc production assembly tasks, returned material activity, defect investigation, product repair, and paint activity as required.
- Review and update assembly, disassembly, and function test documentation and working instructions.
- Liaise with operations personnel and the ITS Team leader to determine daily production requirements.
- Generate engineering and test reports to an agreed standard.
- Possess a clean, valid UK driving license.
- Time-served assembly fitter or equivalent experience in a high-value, low-volume mechanical manufacturing, assembly, and test environment.
- Computer literacy, including use of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SolidWorks.
- Ability to obtain UK security clearance, with further restrictions possible for certain projects.
- Practical 'hands-on' approach, comfortable working with high-value, precision components.
- Ability to test hydro-pneumatic components and systems.
- Ability to use standard measuring equipment, such as micrometers and verniers.
- Able to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Able to produce quality output and accurate documentation to agreed standards, in agreed timescales.
