Job Title: Accounting Lecturer

Craven College is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Lecturer to join our team. As an Accounting Lecturer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences to our students, ensuring they achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver training programs in accounting and related subjects, aligning with customer requirements and College standards.
  • Design and implement effective teaching and learning materials, including flexible learning programs, to support curriculum delivery.
  • Assess student work, adhering to College and awarding body standards, and participate in internal verification and moderation as required.
  • Promote, develop, and evaluate provision within the curriculum area, staying up-to-date with new developments and approaches.
  • Update subject specialism, including continuing professional development, to maintain expertise and enhance teaching practices.
  • Monitor student progress, maintain records, and perform administrative tasks in line with Quality Assurance procedures.
  • Contribute to raising standards on delivered courses, focusing on learner success and customer satisfaction.
  • Liaise effectively with management and staff across the College, participating in appraisal schemes and providing guidance and support to students.
  • Assist with marketing and promotion of courses, ensuring interaction with learners is inclusive and fosters good relations between different groups.
Essential Requirements:
  • Appropriate academic or professional qualifications.
  • Qualifications to minimum level 3 or equivalent and/or relevant vocational experience in the subject specialist area.
  • Level 5 teaching qualification.
  • Level 2 or equivalent qualification in Maths and English.
  • Previous experience of teaching and training in the Further Education sector and adult community delivery.
  • Excellent current working knowledge of the subject area.
  • Ability to work flexibly and on own initiative to meet the needs of the College.
  • Ability to maintain relevant records and documentation accurately.
  • Willingness and ability to undertake further professional development.
  • Ability to achieve high standards working under pressure and with minimum supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Up-to-date enhanced child/adult workforce DBS.
Desirable Requirements:
  • Degree-level qualification and/or highly qualified in the appropriate subject area.
  • Relevant industrial experience.
