About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join our team. As a pivotal leader within the finance department, you will oversee daily operations and ensure strong financial governance across the wider business. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the financial future of the company, providing strategic direction and playing a critical role in driving financial performance, reporting, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including monthly management accounts and annual statutory accounts.
- Manage the Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Orders & Billing, and Management Accounting functions, leading and managing a team of four direct reports (+6 indirect).
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust financial controls, processes, and systems to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Provide strategic financial analysis, insights, and recommendations to senior management to support business decision-making.
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to ensure the company's financial stability.
- Oversee tax planning and compliance with the support of external advisors.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, debt providers, and other third-party stakeholders as required.
- Monitor and report on financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying areas for improvement.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
You will bring with you excellent leadership and team management skills, with experience of managing and developing a finance team. As well as effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
Requirements- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience.
- Proven experience in a Financial Controller role or similar position within a UK-based PE backed company.
- Excellent technical accounting skills and knowledge of FRS102.
- Proficient in using financial software (SAP would be an advantage) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
