Software Engineer (Contractor) Opportunity

We are seeking a talented Software Engineer (Contractor) to join our client's dynamic team in the Defence & Security sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interpret software requirements and develop detailed software designs that align with the broader software architecture.
  • Develop and update software components using Embedded C/C++ and validate fulfilment of requirements.
  • Perform failure root cause analysis and identify design and implementation changes for resolution.
  • Ensure software tasks are executed in adherence to coding standards, development process, and associated policies.
  • Provide accurate effort and timescale estimates for assigned software tasks and report progress to the line manager.
Requirements:
  • Professional experience implementing software applications and services using Embedded C/C++.
  • Proficiency in design capture in UML using Object-Oriented Design (OOD) methodologies.
  • Familiarity with software configuration and change control best practices.
  • Ability to understand complex problems and break them down into actionable resolutions.
  • Relevant degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or equivalent.
  • Experience across Software Requirements Capture, Architectural Design, Implementation, and Test.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, flowcharts, technical report writing, and meeting minutes.
  • Capability to hold security clearance up to the level of SECRET.
