Job Title: Head of Design and Technology

We are seeking an exceptional individual to lead our Design Technology department at Glenmoor Academy. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning, raising standards, and ensuring students achieve outstanding academic outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the Design Technology department to deliver exceptional teaching and learning experiences.
  • Develop and implement a rigorous and engaging curriculum that meets the needs of all learners, preparing them for academic and vocational success.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to implement whole-school initiatives aimed at raising standards and expectations.
  • Inspire and motivate students of all abilities to develop their creativity, problem-solving skills, and passion for Design Technology.
  • Provide guidance, support, and professional development for staff within the department, ensuring effective teaching strategies are shared and implemented.
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress and attainment of students, ensuring that all achieve their full potential.
  • Lead extra-curricular activities and enrichment opportunities within Design Technology to inspire a love for the subject.
  • Maintain a safe and stimulating learning environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
