Spire Healthcare is seeking dedicated and skilled Theatre Support Practitioners to enhance our dynamic Surgical Services team.

This role focuses on assisting in orthopaedic procedures, providing an exceptional opportunity to work with some of the most experienced surgeons in the region, engaging in a variety of surgical cases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the surgical team under the guidance of a registered perioperative practitioner, focusing on the scrub role for minor elective surgeries within the defined scope of practice.
  • Prepare and maintain all necessary surgical instruments and equipment for the scheduled procedures.
  • Position and connect surgical equipment as required, ensuring safe disconnection and removal post-procedure.
  • Ensure familiarity with all equipment prior to use, adhering to local policies and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Set up sterile trolleys, ensuring all instruments are accounted for before, during, and after surgical procedures.
  • Perform surgical scrubbing, gowning, and gloving in accordance with established aseptic protocols.
  • Assist in the preparation of the surgical field, including skin preparation and draping.
  • Support the registered practitioner in preparing medications needed during surgical procedures as per local agreements.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Basic understanding of health, safety, and hygiene standards.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts as required.
  • Relevant qualifications as a Theatre Support Practitioner.
  • Completion of mandatory training, including infection control and health and safety protocols.
  • Awareness of infection control practices.
